Earth Hour is more than an hour without lights, it’s a commitment of people who are working together to take collective action to prevent climate and as a symbolic gesture of unity and action towards a sustainable future. Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel Bali, in collaboration with Artha Graha Peduli (AGP), proudly participates in this iconic global movement initiated by WWF International in 2007. Our commitment goes beyond the standard, 60 minutes; we are dimming our lights for 90 minutes to underscore our dedication to environmental responsibility.
The Earth Hour event unfolded at our picturesque oceanfront venue, Beach Gate, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 7:30 PM to 10 PM. The creative arrangement of candles spelling ’90+’ by Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel was a remarkable collaborative effort. We extend our heartfelt invitation to our guests to join us in this meaningful event.
As the mesmerizing sun goes down, the event is ready to begin. Ratu Patimasang, our Director of Marketing Communication, took the stage as the Master of Ceremony and shared a little bit about Earth Hour to participants and guests. The event was live-streamed across the entire Artha Graha Network in Indonesia, facilitated by the AGN Media Center and accessible via YouTube channel.
The evening commenced with captivating Balinese dance performances and mesmerizing magic acts before we continue for the counting down of the lights to be turned off on 8.30PM. As the candles glowed brightly, they created a stunning contrast against the dark night sky, adding to the ambiance of the event. One of the memorable highlights of the event was the captivating Fire Dance performance, accompanied by live music and harmonious singing by all participants and guests, which become a night of reflection of Earth Hour.
