Bali, Indonesia — Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel & Villas celebrated ’Earth Day’ on 22 April, 2008. The event was filled with activities such as releasing colourful butterflies and planting flowers; including Lavender and several other mosquito-repellent plants.

During this environmental event, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel involved employees and in-house guests to participate. The special guest of honour was none other than Mr. Victor Mason, the author of the book ’Butterflies of Bali‘. His vivid explanation of the benefits and beauty of butterflies was not only educational but also very amusing. Children and adults alike enjoyed releasing the colourful butterflies and planting the mosquito-repelling flowers.

Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel has also recently achieved the prestigious ’Green Globe Benchmark’ status under the globally recognised benchmarking program, which has recognised the hotel’s commitment to operating in accordance with the World’s highest environmental standards.
